Jessica was fantastic to work with and took fantastic photos! Our family chose a fairly remote spot on a hiking trail we loved, and it was cold and damp on the day of our shoot. Jess trooped out there with us, in the cold and wet and mud, and took the most beautiful photos. We loved that she included our 11-year-old in the decisions about shots, and that she was also patient about including our dog. We look forward to working with her in the future as our family continues to grow!

I’m usually known as ‘paparazzi’ to my friends with the amount of pictures I take and the emphasis I put on ‘capturing the moment’ so you can imagine my nerves when I hired someone else to be in control of my father’s surprise party. We were so happy to have Jessica photograph our September 2015 wedding at Beavertail State Park and Newport Polo. Leading up to the wedding, she was patient and attentive as we discussed our plans, offering many helpful and creative ideas. She visited the sites before the date and sent us example photos, getting us excited for our big day and feeling confident our photos would look great. The day of, she honored our style preferences and our desire to stay in-the-moment; she was positive, professional, unobtrusive, and very comfortable to be with during such an emotional and stressful time! The pictures that Jessica took of our family gathering are beautiful. Jessica took amazing photos of our family. On the way to our photo shoot, our 4 year old fell asleep. Of course she was cranky when she woke up when we arrived at our photo shoot. Words can not explain how wonder it was to have Jessica by our side throughout our wedding journey. From our engagement shoot to the day of the wedding, Jessica took the time to know us and really capture our vision. Besides being our photographer she was also a huge emotional support! The day of the wedding, Jessica connected with all of our guest as she would snap a pic and let them see the pictures throughout the night as a way to include them in her process – guest couldn’t stop talking about how great she was! Jessica’s pictures truly speak for themselves. When we received our album we were truly blown away by the amount of moments she was able to capture and how detail orientated she remained in every single shot.
Jessica was everything we hoped for in a wedding photographer! It rained the day of so we had to go to plan B for most of our group photos and Jessica did an amazing job making them look like our plan A’s. I really did not want to spend my entire wedding day taking photos and miss spending time with all my friends and family that came to town, so I was very pleased that Jessica was fast and got great candids! We got all our wedding party and bride/groom photos done (at several indoor locations and around the neighborhood) in about 2 hours. We got all the family photos done during our cocktail hour and we still got back in time to enjoy a little of the cocktail hour ourselves! Candid photos are always my favorite and Jessica got some real gems during the ceremony, speeches and reception! She had a great variety of close up shots, group shots and wide angle big group shots. She made a Dropbox of the final photos available on time (within about a month) and the prints we got were very high quality!

Jessica came highly recommended to us, so we hired her for our engagement and wedding photos and she certainly didn’t disappoint! Neither of us are keen on having our photos taken as a rule, and it’s generally an awkward experience, but Jessica made the entire experience relaxing and enjoyable for us and our entire party! The photos turned out fantastic, and she gave us a ton to choose from, with a super fast turn around time. Honestly, we can’t recommend her highly enough to anyone looking for a photographer!
We had a great experience with Jessica. She arrived on time and was key to helping us stay on schedule the entire day. She made sure she got the shots we requested and took beautiful pictures outdoors. We never felt she was in the way as she really knows what she’s doing all the time. Working with her was great from the moment we first got in touch. She asked the right questions prior to the wedding and provided a preview soon after the wedding day. The only thing I regret is not taking her recommendation on a videographer. We weren’t sure whether it was worth it but looking back, we should have had one for our Mass.

If there’s one thing on your wedding day that you want (despite marrying your special someone) is beautiful, fun, and special pictures – at least it was that way for me. Let me tell you, Jess provided it. On a day of absolute pouring rain, my anxiety was even higher about getting those “perfect pictures”. Jessica went above and beyond. She was constantly reassuring, always checking in to see how we’re doing, and stayed organized. She was always professional, kind, and had a little bit of fun from what I could see (photo booth pictures). Jessica is amazing! She did my maternity photos on the beach with my husband and two dogs last summer and the experience (and the photos) were so great! She made it a very fun and enjoyable experience which isn’t easy with two dogs! My husband and I were very stressed and hesitant when planning our wedding back in 2020 during the pandemic. We knew that the possibility of having to postpone our special day was a possibility, and we wanted to find the best photographer who would be accommodating and understanding if our original plans changed. Jessica Pohl went above and beyond to make our wedding extraordinary. In her wedding packages, Jessica offers a 1-hour engagement photoshoot to get to know her couple’s better. I highly recommend doing this! It was a great way for my husband and I to get to know Jessica informally, as well as gave Jessica the opportunity to study which lighting and angles suited us prior to the wedding day. My husband and I chose Jessica as our wedding photographer for our wedding on May, 14 2021, and we could not be happier with our decision. Jessica first did our engagement photos which were complimentary with our package that we chose. My husband and I are both on the shy side, and my husband hates having his photos taken yet by the end of the engagement session my husband mentioned more than once how he enjoyed it and had so much fun. Jessica made us laugh non stop and made us feel so comfortable. She stated that at any point if we didn’t want to do a certain pose or felt uncomfortable to let her know. She was also open to suggestions however she is so skilled that we let her be in control. Leading up to the wedding Jessica was quick to respond to any questions I had and always mentioned how she was there for me if I needed help with anything even if it was not related to the photography. She wanted to make the process as stress free as possible for us. Now how many people would go above and beyond like she did? The day of our wedding she made us feel so comfortable and at ease and took all of our worries and stress away. Her kindness consistently shone through and did not go unnoticed. Throughout the day she made sure that my husband and I and I were enjoying the moments we shared and she provided us with endless laughs. I found Jessica by searching through local photographers whom would be able to do a family portrait session outdoors. From the first email through delivery of the photos- she was a professional, polite, thoughtful and awesome to work with. During the emails prior to the picture day- she suggested local spots and offered her opinions about each one. She was on time/early for our day of, knew exactly what poses/grouping to do and moved us (three littles (ages 6,6, and 4) and two adults) through the session quickly but efficiently. The kids even loved the end where they got to look through her camera and take a photo each! Within the time frame she initially stated, she delivered a preview of several photos and then within a short time later, delivered all the images to my email for full printing authority. Jessica is awesome and we will be using her again for updated photos!

Jessica helped capture everything we were hoping for in our day and we have beautiful memories to look back on forever! She was fantastic to work with and super collaborative in regards to the types of pictures we wanted throughout the day. She helped pull together an amazing timeline to make sure nothing was missed and was able to capture the day without being intrusive in events. We can’t thank Jessica enough for her amazing work.
My family first met Jessica through her work with the Aquidneck Land Trust (ALT) and she has been taking our family photos since before our youngest was born. I can’t speak enough about her professionalism in every step of the process. Jessica provides detailed communication before each shoot and, after a shoot has concluded, lets you know exactly when you can expect your sneak peek and final gallery. Jessica has an incredible talent for working with children of all ages. Our teenagers aren’t the biggest fans of having their photos taken (I know, shocker). Even if a year has passed since our previous shoot, Jessica has a knack for relaxing them by discussing topics she knows interest them. She always includes our three-year-old in the shoot by letting her look at the previews in her camera. We’re so grateful to have Jessica as our local photographer who will continue to chronicle the adventures of our growing family.
Jessica photographed our wedding on our family farm in September of 2022. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, Jessica was professional, organized, and timely. For two people that don’t love being in front of the camera, she made us feel very comfortable and at ease. She was the easiest person to work with and helped lessen our anxieties on such a stressful, emotional day. All our photos truly are amazing. We loved her attention to detail and that she was able to capture both the close-up shots and the wider photos that show the beautiful land that means so much to us. Jessica was helpful in the lead-up (she answered lots of questions for us, including some general wedding questions that had nothing to do with photography!) and was very flexible to what we had in mind. And her help on the wedding day was invaluable – we had fallen behind schedule, and she kept things moving, while keeping calm (which helped keep us calm!). The end result was gorgeous photos that captured the day perfectly. We couldn’t be happier.
We loved working with Jessica! She took amazing family pictures of us at our favorite beach in Narraganset. She also took senior pictures of my son. Her ability to get both teenagers relaxed, smiling, and enjoying the experience was amazing. She knew the perfect time to meet for the best light, and the results were fantastic. We used the pictures on our Holiday card and received many compliments. We also printed several and they are now a feature in our home that we will treasure for many years.
I hired Jessica for generational photos this past fall. Ages ranging from 4 months to 89 years old. She was absolutely fantastic at handling the kids and families. Jessica has great tricks to get the kids to focus and smile for the camera. My entire family couldn’t be happier with the experience and final photos that we will all cherish for years to come. Jessica was an amazing photographer! Before the wedding, she was helpful in creating a timeline and checked in with us periodically to see if we needed anything. She responded to every email very quickly and worked with our budget! Also, as a lesbian couple, Jessica made us feel welcomed, safe, and secure, which was obviously very important to us.
On the day of the wedding, she arrived early and made sure to touch base with me and my wife before we walked down the aisle. She was very flexible when we made last minute changes and requests to the shot list. We had a lot of people that we wanted photographed; Jessica made sure to get everyone and keep them organized and efficient. When we said our private vows, she respectfully kept her distance while also capturing the most beautiful photos of us.
After the wedding, she delivered out sneak peek super-fast. We were so excited to get them while on our honeymoon! Our full gallery was delivered early. All of the photos are gorgeous, and we’ve already hung some up in our home. Thank you, Jessica!!
